PIERROT LUNAIRE INTERNATIONAL COMPOSITION COMPETITION 2019
The Pierrot Lunaire Ensemble Wien announce the PIERROT LUNAIRE INTERNATIONAL COMPOSITION COMPETITION 2019. Composers from all over the world - are invited to present works for the Pierrot Lunaire Ensemble Wien. Created on an initiative of the Pierrot Lunaire Ensemble Wien the Pierrot Lunaire International Composition Competition 2019 will launch its edition during the 2019-2020 seasons. This competition for chamber works will be open to composers of all nationalities, with no age restrictions. Its aim is to encourage and promote musical creation while developing lasting ties between the Pierrot Lunaire Ensemble Wien and the composers of today and, in this way, actively contribute to a renewal of the chamber repertoire.
I. Prize for the winning Composition
1. Prize: Euro 10.000, - and minimum three performances by the Pierrot Lunaire Ensemble Wien during its 2019-2020 international concert tour season. Additionally, the Pierrot Lunaire Ensemble Wien could create a list of pieces which it suggests for performance along with the prize-winning pieces during the 2019-2020 international concert tour seasons.

II. Conditions for entry:
* There are no age limit or nationality restrictions for composers. * Instruments: The compositions submitted for the competition must use ONLY the following instruments, either together or in sectors, involving a minimum of 2 performers to a maximum of 5 performers, with or without vocal participation: Flute (single performer including piccolo, G alto flute) Clarinet in B-flat (single performer including A-clarinet and B-flat bass clarinet) Violin (single performer) Cello (single performer) Piano (single performer) *Scores will not be accepted if they differ even marginally from the possibilities listed above. * The works duration must be between 10 and 15 minutes.

* Each composer can submit more than one work to the Competition provided that separate registration is compiled for each entry (together with the relative registration fee) * Compositions entered will not be returned, and will we keep in the Pierrot Lunaire Ensemble Wien Archives. * Winners cannot be subsidized to attend the performance. * The compositions will be judged by the Pierrot Lunaire Ensemble Wien. * The jury’s decision is final and cannot be legally challenged. Furthermore, the jury reserves the right to award no prizes if, after the evaluation of all submitted works. * The entry fees are non-refundable. * The results of the PIERROT LUNAIRE INTERNATIONAL COMPOSITION COMPETITION 2018 will be published ONLY on the web site www.pierrotlunaire.at on 30th April 2019.

III. Entry Fee: The composition must be submitted along with an entry fee of EURO 70, -. IV. Pierrot Lunaire Ensemble Wien is not able to consider works that do not conform to the guidelines outlined above and cannot accept any responsibility for scores or any other materials lost, misdirected or damaged while in transit.
V. Participation in the Competition implies the unconditional acceptance of this announcement, as well as consent for the use of the contestant’s personal data. Submissions, which do not meet the conditions or deadlines specified above, will not be considered.
