Ooi Wei Chern

Ooi Wei Chern began to learn piano at a very young age under the tutelage of Patricia HC Lim. Apart from his interest in Piano, he also had the chance to learn the Dizi, Erhu and Pipa from Mr. Chow Chee Fatt in his primary school days. Mr. Ooi started learning the Yang Qin under the tutelage of Mr. Teh Beng Huat. The China Conservatory of Music accepted him as a Yangqin performance undergraduate student in 2010 under the tutelage of renowned YangQin performer, Associate Professor Wu HuangHuang. He completed his undergraduate course and graduated from China Conservatory of Music in 2014. In 2018, he resumes his study at the China Conservatory of Music, learning composition under the tutelage of Associate Professor Wang Jue.
